Derwent House, built in 1753, is a charming Grade II listed property with beamed ceilings, original fireplaces and low doorways.

 

The completely restored accommodation is as follows:

 

Delightful lounge with log burner

Derwent House enjoys a large, delightful lounge with stone fireplace and wood burning stove, and feature bay windows. The lounge has comfortable seating, colour television with DVD player and mini hifi system. A further reception room, which was the original kitchen, is found off the corridor with further comfortable seating. 

 

Spacious dining room - seats 12

Adjacent to the lounge is a spacious dining room, with feature bay windows, feature fireplace and large oak dining table with seating for 12.

 

Large, well equipped kitchen with original quarry tiled floor

The kitchen incorporates a sink, dishwasher, fridge, microwave, double gas oven and 7 ring hob and has a range of equipment and utensils. There is dining table with benches also within the room for breakfast/informal dining. The kitchen and old kitchen have original quarry tile flooring.

 

A washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer are located on the ground floor utility room. This area allows adequate storage for outdoor wear and drying clothes. An iron and ironing board are also provided.

 

Six individually styled bedrooms

 

The stairs, with original Georgian balustrade lead to the first floor landing off which four of the bedrooms and a large family bathroom are situated. The master bedroom has a king size bed with an original Georgian fireplace and oak wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside cabinets. There is a television and DVD player. Opposite the master bedroom is a twin bedroom decorated in classical Georgian style, with chest of draws, built in wardrobe and en-suite toilet and shower room. There is an additional television/DVD located in this bedroom. Towards the back of the house is a double bedroom with wooden furniture and storage, en-suite toilet and shower room. There is a further Double bedroom, with wardrobe and en-suite toilet and shower. The large Victorian style panelled bathroom, freestanding bath with hand held shower, basin and toilet are situated on this floor.

 

Two further bedrooms are located on the second floor.  A large twin room, with wooden furniture and views of Knowleston Gardens from the large sash window. The sixth bedroom has a double bed, built-in wardrobes and en-suite toilet and hand basin.

 

All towels and bed linen are provided. Each bedroom has a clock/alarm radio. Travel racks are located in each of the bedrooms.

 

Central heating has been fitted throughout the property, which can be regulated via a central thermostat and individual radiator valves. Mains smoke alarms and heat detectors are fitted throughout the property.

 

A cot and high chair are also available if required.
